Art History Society

Art Works or WVU is a student-run society whose purpose is to “honor, recognize and inform students of the ongoing creative arts in Morgantown and surrounding areas; to create and encourage an academic environment for students interested in the arts, where they are able to express ideas, concerns, and desires pertaining to their advancement of a career in the visual arts.” The Society is open to any WVU student interested in the visual arts and they hope to promote increased awareness and communications between art history majors and visual arts majors. The spring of 2008 marks the fourth year they have organized and hosted a invitational and peer-reviewed art history symposium. They also attended a professional national conference, SECAC, and assisted with the implementation of a graduate student exhibition in Pennsylvania this past year.
