Kristina Olson

Kristina Olson teaches courses in modern and contemporary art, architecture, and theory and is academic advisor to freshman students in the Division of Art and Design. Professor Olson has a MA in art criticism and history from Stony Brook University and a BA in humanities with a minor in art history from the University of Oregon. She is a contributor to the book Kartoon Kings: The Graphic Work of Simon Grennan and Christopher Sperandio (2007), and co-editor of Blanche Lazzell: The Life and Work of an American Modernist (2004). She is an exhibition reviewer for such periodicals as Art in America, Art Papers and Sculpture Magazine and is the exhibition reviews editor for the Southeastern College Art Conference Review. From 1992 to 2003 she was curator of the Mesaros Galleries at West Virginia University where exhibitions focused on the work of such internationally-acclaimed contemporary artists as Faith Ringgold, Nancy Spero and Hachivi Edgar Heap of Birds.
