Ronald Aman

Ronald Aman comes to West Virginia University from Macomb Illinois. He most recently served as a faculty member of the art department at Western Illinois University and previously at Ohio University in Athens, OH and Adams State College in Alamosa, CO. At each of these institutions he has organized and served as faculty advisor for the student chapters of the National Art Education Association. He is currently serving as the Chair of the West Virginia Art Education Association’s Higher Education Division.
Dr. Aman earned his BFA in studio fibers and a BS in Art Education from Western Carolina University and his MS and Ph.D. in Art Education from The Pennsylvania State University.
His primary areas of research include community based and issues based art education and museum/community programming. Dr. Aman has presented papers, works in progress and hands-on studio workshops at conferences hosted by the National Art Education Association, the Colorado Art Education Association, The Ohio Art Education Association, The Illinois Art Education Association, The West Virginia Art Education Association, and the Canadian Society for Education Through Art.
