Robert Bridges

Robert Bridges is Assistant Professor of Art at West Virginia University and Curator of the West Virginia University Art Collection, which houses more than 2,500 art objects. In addition, he serves as Curator of the Mesaros Galleries. Bridges has an MFA from West Virginia University in Printmaking and a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University. At WVU, he has curated such exhibitions as Blanche Lazzell: The Work of an American Modernist, 2004; Contemporary Ceramics from the Harry Shaw Collection, 2004; Blanche Lazzell: The Hofmann Drawings, 2004; A Century of Women Artists – Selections from the Dr. Gina Puzzuoli Miller Collection, 2004; and Omnivorous: The Art and Architecture of Paul Rosenblatt and SPRINGBOARD, 2006. Bridges’ research on Blanche Lazzell was partly funded by a grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council.
