This is detailed information on the first two weeks at San Giovanni Valdarno, Tuscany (30 min from Florence).
WVU course name: Introduction to Italian Culture
MANY NEW FEATURES! The course includes:
- Introductory classes on Italian and Tuscan History, Art and Culture
- Italian language classes
- Two field trips to Florence
- Field trip to Pisa and Lucca
- Field trip to Siena (+1 small village close to Siena), Radda and Chianti vineyard
- Field trip to San Gimignano and Monteriggioni
- One cooking lesson
- Weekend trip to Rome
Total contact hours: 45 hours
Total credit hours: 3
The cost includes: orientation meeting and welcome buffet, accommodation on a double room basis in San Giovanni, welcome dinner and orientation tour of San Giovanni Valdarno, materials for all courses and lessons listed, transfers and English speaking guide person for field trips, cooking lesson and dinner prepared by the students, wine and food tasting in a Chianti farm.
All field trips and lessons will be held by English speaking teachers.
Cost does not include: meals (apart from those above mentioned), bus transfers to Pisa, hotel and transfer for the weekend in Rome.
A deposit of 150 euros will be required for accommodation on the first day. It will be fully reimbursed on the last day if no damage has been caused to the apartment. All students will be given policy specification for the apartments on their arrival.
